49SPECIAL STORYMy name is AlyonaMy name is Alyona and I am 21 years old. Learning a new language is like embarking on an exciting adventure, opening doors to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. My fascination with Korean culture initially sparked my interest in the language. From K-pop to Korean dramas, I found myself drawn to the rich artistic expressions that emanated. I have been studying korean language with Sallesia sunyeonim for 4 years from first grade of university. Firstly, we meet and had lessons face to face, but while quarantine time we had lessons in the zoom. We have learned books from elementary till high level, we were practicing grammar, writing, reading, speaking and listening. Even I have been learning korean before our lessons helped me a lot to be more confident in speaking and writing. The barriers that once seemed insurmountable had become stepping stones to fluency. Language learning is often a collaborative effort. Connecting with native speakers or fellow learners through language exchange partnerships proved invaluable. Conversing with fluent speakers helped refine my speaking skills, while offering my insights into my own language enhanced my understanding of linguistic concepts. Nowadays we are reading book about korean history and it is not only helping me in practicing pronunciation and learning new words and grammar, but I also getting familiar with past of korea, it is interesting and helpful to understand aspects of life there. Beyond the linguistic competence, my journey of learning Korean brought about a profound personal transformation. I developed a greater appreciation for diversity and a more open-minded perspective. Exploring a new language expanded my horizons and deepened my empathy towards others from different backgrounds. Additionally, Sallesia sunyeonim let me know me about volunteering where I can use my korean ability. I joined them twice and I liked time spent there and that I could help people there with my knowledge. Moreover, I met good people there that I could meet later. Last September I had an opportunity to study as exchange student in kongju national university. My major was English language and literature, however as I lived there, I had I a good opportunity to practice korean language as well as English. But even while studying in korea we had online lesson once a week, that helped me to stay in tune with language learning. Now I finished my bachelor%u2019s degree in teaching English to natives of other languages. And I entered for master%u2019s degree in korea to continue my studies in korea, because I liked to study and live there. My journey of learning the Korean language has been a testament to the power of determination, curiosity, and cultural immersion. It has not only enabled me to communicate in a new tongue but has also broadened my understanding of the world.%ud55c%uae00 %uc218%uc5c5 %uc758%ub8cc %ubd09%uc0ac
